Staying healthy while traveling is a mission possible as long as we follow a few simple rules.
The food, especially when we are on the road, is extremely important, although we often neglect it because our interest is attracted by a bunch of other things. We should always plan breakfast – the most important meal of the day, which should be nutritious and healthy.
Healthy mind, healthy body, people say, but it is not enough to move while we are on the road. Surely many would recognize the swollen and hot limbs, back pain and wondering how they will spend the rest of the day after a steady overload with a heavy backpack and long hours on foot. Be sure to do stretching exercises and, if possible, the hotel where you are staying offers it, go for a massage and sauna.
Another important thing not to be missed is not to become dehydrated. Forget fizzy drinks and juices, which only further dehydrate, and rely on water and tea. They maintain the body’s natural water balance.
Don’t forget about your eyes and skin and always use sunscreen for exposed areas of the body and wear glasses that protect your eyes not only from the sun’s rays, but also from dust and dirt. This rule applies to all seasons.
We often tend to forget about hygiene during travel – hands should be washed under running water, and in the backpack always have a pack of wet towels and antibacterial gel. And after each walk, as soon as we return to the hotel or the place where we stayed, to take a hot shower.
The most important thing for health is to keep the mind in shape. Enjoy your vacation, get some sleep and collect good impressions and memories. Don’t think about work, problems or other worrying things.
