The largest British and Europe’s second-largest low-cost airline is based at London Luton Airport. Founded in March 1995, to today’s time EasyJet currently offers tickets to over 100 destinations in 30 countries, most of them in Europe. Egypt, Morocco, Cyprus, Israel, Jordan and Turkey are among the destinations outside the old continent to which the carrier flies. easyJet’s average fleet age is just a little over six years each.easyJet did not allocate seats – passengers took any available seats, with the option to pay for “Speedy Boarding” and be first onto the aircraft. Since 2012, all passengers are allocated numbered seats before boarding commences, as it was found that this does not slow down boarding times and could earn more revenue than Speedy Boarding. In February 2011, the airline painted eight of its aircraft with a lightweight, thin “revolutionary nano technology coating” polymer. It works by reducing build-up of debris and reduces drag across the surface of the aircraft, thus reducing the fuel bill. It was estimated the airline could save 1–2% annually, equating to a £14 million reduction in fuel costs.
