This year, on 25th August, the company celebrated its 98 anniversary. The airline can trace its origins back to the birth of civil aviation. British Airways is the largest airline in the United Kingdom based on fleet size, or the second largest, behind easyJet, when measured by passengers carried. BA’s slogan – ‘the world’s favourite airline’ – was coined by Saatchi and Saatchi, but the airline dumped the ad agency in 2005, ending a 23-year-relationship. British Airways currently has approximately 40,000 employees including 15,000 cabin crew, 3,600 pilots and 5,500 engineers. The airline also offers opportunities for graduates and has more than 150 places for apprentices every year.
