Ryanair was founded in 1984 as “Danren Enterprises” by Christopher Ryan, Liam Lonergan and Irish businessman Tony Ryan (after whom the company is named). The airline was shortly thereafter renamed “Ryanair”and began operations in 1985 with a 15-seat Embraer Bandeirante turboprop aircraft, flying between Waterford and Gatwick Airport. The real progress of the company starts with Michael O’Leary as CEO. Today Ryanair is successful business model of low-cost airline. The company has over 11,000 employees and 360 planes – Boeing 737-800. The expectations are to be reached amount 570 planes, including 100 models of Boeing 737 MAX 200 in 2019. Ryanair’s route network serves 190 destinations in 34 countries in Europe, Africa (Morocco), and the Middle East (Israel).
